“Ben Franklin”

Ben Franklin – Maker Unknown.  Circa 1950s.  Gray metal with copper-bronze finish.  Measures 5-1/2” high x 3-3/4” wide x 2-3/8” deep.  Weighs 4-1/2 lbs. the pair.  Ben Franklin signature across front.  No makers marks.  Original black felt on both.  It’s curious that we never see Franklin bookends.  He was Colonial America’s Renaissance man – scientist, inventor, author, printer, politican, musician, satirist, diplomat, statesman, civic activist…and… one of America’s founding fathers. These bookends are in great condition for their age and very hard to find.
