Gerdago Girl Pixie – attr. J.B. Hirsch Foundry, Circa 1928. (Only one). Gray metal on a JB Hirsch style polished stone base. This one belongs in the “Witness Protection Program” since she’s missing her ivorine face and book in hand. What a shame! Gerda Iro Gerdago, Austrian born sculptor and theatrical costume designer, is famous for elaborately costumed Deco dancers. Gerdago sculptures sell today for thousands at auction. The bookend mold was acquired from a French Foundry and produced by JB Hirsch in 1928. The finish and base are in near perfect condition. If she only had a face!
