“Charleston Dancers #270” – Hubley  Mfg. Co. Circa 1939. Inscribed © Fish.  Cold-painted cast iron.  Measures 8-3/4” high x 5-1/8” wide x 1-1/2” deep.  Weighs 7 lbs. the pair.  Appears in The Doorstop Book with a value of $3,000 and up.  This might be a later recast because of the excellent condition.  Paint is 95% intact with some minor chipping.  Anne Fish was one of the most popular illustrators during the Roaring Twenties. Her work appeared regularly in Vanity Fair. The series of doorstops and bookends she created for Hubley are highly collectible today.
