Auntique & Uncle Tony

Sellers of Antique Bookends, Vintage Glass, & Collectibles

Founded in 1894 in Lancaster, PA for the manufacture of cast-iron toys and toy banks  In the late 1910s and early 1920s they expanded their line to include decorative iron sand-cast bookends, which were made until World War II.  The company was sold in

1955 to Gabriel Industries.  The Hubley Division continued for several years before finally closing.  In 1969, The John Wright Company, Wrightstown, PA bought Hubley’s entire pattern and match plate library, but only a few bookends have been reproduced.

Hubley bookends are generally imprinted with a two or three digit number on the back, but no specific company logo. Their full-figured bookends generally have no numbers on the back.
