“Resting Monk ” , attributed to Armor Bronze , Circa 1922 – Bronze-Clad with monochrome antique bronze patina. Attributed to sculptor W. Johnson, but not signed. Measures 4-3/4” high x 4-1/2” deep x 3-1/4” wide. Weighs 3 lbs. the pair. Inscribed with the trademark shield that Armor Bronze has used on all of its bookends since 1916. This contented little fellow seems to have dozed off mid-prayer while thanking the Lord for another excellent vintage. Bottom felt and label are long gone. Otherwise, outstanding condition and extremely rare. |
